Cliff Lee got pounded in Texas on opening day. We can still root for 161-1, can’t we? Hank Blalock had a big day at the plate for the host Texas Rangers. Blalock and Jarrod Saltalamacchia both homered for the victorius Rangers. Lee lasted only 5 innings scattering 10 hits and yielding 7 earned runs in his start. Blalock knocked in 3 runs to lead a well-balanced Ranger offense.
Kevin Millwood had a strong start for Texas. Millwood gave up one , with travis Hafner scoring on a wild pitch. Texas had a pair of relievers pitch a perfect inning each with a strikeout apiece.
The Tribe will go back to the drawing board as they send out Fausto Carmona to face Vicente Padilla. First pitch is scheduled for 8:05.

You won't see Millwood pitch that good again all year. The game was just a Twilight Zoneish game. Millwood throwing breaking balls that really did break, Travis Hafner getting a basehit, and Cliff Lee returning to his true for pre-2008. All we needed was a Felix Fermin sac bunt and a Joe Carter dropping a pop fly.
