Indians Lose 4-2 In Series Opener vs Kansas City

Kansas City got a solid start from unheralded staff ace Zack Greinke to beat Cleveland 4-2 in the series opener Monday night.  Greinke extended his scoreless streak to 25 innings in a row going back to last season.  Joakim Soria recorded his fourth save after giving up singles to Grady Sizemore and Shin-Soo Choo on his first two pitches.  Jhonny Peralta struck out to end the game.

Once again, the Indians offense was feast or famine.  Squandered opportunities galore in this one as The Tribe left a dozen runners in scoring position and could only go 4-13 with men in scoring position.

Fausto Carmona has pitched better games.  Carmona surrendered four runs in five innings of work.

The Indians go back to it in an important early-season series tonight in Kansas City.  First pitch is scheduled for 8:15 PM.
