I think he has a duty to put a semi-competitive team on the field and he's also got a duty to see what talent we have in our own system. The two may conflict, and when they do I think whichever decision he feels helps "the bigger picture" is what Shapiro will choose. As for Wang, I think there's a reason the Yankees decided to non-tender him. He's probably still hurt and seeing as we aren't trying to contend this year, why waste the money on what will be a few month rental? Plus, Wang really isn't that great. He's had gaudy win numbers but c'mon, he's been on the Yankees. Shapiro really needs to be fired. Also, would you want to take a chance on Chein-Ming Wang?
