Hey,

I thought it was a damn good lede. I got the score in the first three paragraphs, which is required.

Somebody somewhere had to be smiling when they read that. I know it wasn't you, but I bet someone got a laugh out of it.

Bravo, Ed. I couldn't agree more. I've thought for some time that Paul Hoynes absolutely hates his job. If I were a player I definitely would have punched the jerk in the face by now if I'd read his stuff.

No one is asking him to be a homer, but he seems to have such disdain for everything regarding this team that he goes out of his way to knock anyone and everyone as much as he can. No matter if it's completely illogical, no matter if it has absolutely zero to do with the subject of the article, and no matter if it's even 100% factual.

Another good example of this, I don't know if you've noticed, is how he seems to bring up the Sizemore "iPhone" incident whenever possible. Now I understand it's something that deserves a bit of mocking, but usually it has nothing to do with the subject matter whatsoever and appears out of the blue. He does it just to get in another dig at one of the Indians.

It's maddening really, how he has a job so many of us would kill to have but hates and abuses it so. Just read the comments at cleveland.com and you'll see how his general malaise has permeated a lot of the casual fan base that only read what he has to say. It's amazing how many times I've heard casual fans around me spew his crap word for word.

Thanks for the comment. I don't think the PD, WKNR, WTAM or whatever media outlet has to be "nice" to the Indians. I don't even have a problem with a little bit of opinion or objectiveness in articles; it's going to happen, we are all human, and sometimes it's necessary.

What Hoynes does, however, is not.

I'd like to see more fairness rather than bitterness. These are the realities of being a small market team in Major League Baseball. It sucks. And the Indians have not been perfect by any means. But to take cheap shots at the team and the organization whenever you feel like it for the sheer reason you can is just wrong. And unfortunately a lot of people buy into it because the PD is where they get all their news. Some of the stuff he writes though just makes me shake my head.

Thank you for reading, and I promise to try to provide the fairest and most honest opinions and viewpoints on the Tribe.
