Choo Chooooooo!

Tonight’s 3 homer outburst by Shin-Soo Choo just saved my fantasy baseball season, and I’m loving it. I really hope the guy doesn’t get sent back to Korea.

I heard a nice stat tonight while I was listening to the game at work: the Indians have the second best team ERA (the Giants are first) in the majors in the month of September. This is promising, as most of these pitchers will more than likely be on this team to start next season. On top of that, tonight’s win put the Tribe half a game ahead of the Royals in the battle for last place. We may not be in a pennant race, but I think we should embrace this just as such, if not just for a little bit of excitement in this city.

Look at the state of Cleveland sports. The Browns laid an Ostrich-sized egg last week. The Cavs…well, you know. And if you don’t, I’m amazed you even found this website. There isn’t a whole lot to look forward to this year, so I say we all band together and cheer on the Tribe as they battle Kansas City for the right to not finish last in the AL Central. Last year, they tied. Lame. This year, we’re fixin’ to show those barbecuing monarchs who’s the boss! If we don’t, we can always bring up the fact that they haven’t been to the playoffs since 1985.

Down on the farm, the Clippers blasted their way to the Governor’s Cup tonight with a 13-2 win over Durham. Another positive sign, especially since Jason Kipnis, in just his third game at the AAA level, hit for the cycle! Congrats Jason! Hopefully some of the good fortune for these kids will translate into a bright future for the Tribe.

For now, let’s all get on the Choo-Choo train and ride it to that fourth-place finish!
