Site5 and FanSided Holiday Season Charity Drive

While were on the “giving thanks” cruise ship, this would be a great time to mention that Fansided (the network where Deep Left Field calls its home) has teamed up with Site5 to donate to the Boys and Girls Club of America. Site5 has been a tremendous asset to the Fansided network with their web hosting, and they are helping Fansided again with this charity drive. Fansided’s goal is $5,000, although we would like to surpass that. Fansided and Site5 have already donated the first 10 percent of the goal.

Now, if you’re like me, you’d never blindly support something without doing a little research. Here is the Boys and Girls Club of America’s mission statement:

"To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.Core BeliefsA Boys & Girls Club Provides:A safe place to learn and grow…Ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals…Life-enhancing programs and character development experiences…Hope and opportunity."

Here’s a link to the BGCA’s official website. Please go check it out, and you can go HERE to donate.

Thank you in advance for any support you can give to this worthwhile cause. Here are five quick things to be thankful for as an Indians fan:

  1. Progressive Field is still a gem of a ballpark.
  2. The Indians are the last AL Central team to win a postseason series.
  3. Chris Perez – ’nuff said.
  4. The Indians are still the cheapest professional sports ticket in town.
  5. They aren’t the Royals…

Thank you so much everyone for your support!
