The All-Star voting ends tonight at midnight, and it looks like Asdrubal Cabrera will not be able to overcome Derek Jeter in the voting. Jeter was about 500 thousand votes ahead of Cabrera when the latest update was given, and it would take a near miracle for Asdrubal to find himself starting in the game. Although I would love to see Asdrubal start, it is fitting that Derek Jeter starts in the game. He is one of baseball’s living legends, and he may have 3000 hits when the All-Star Game is played. His status is similar to that of Cal [...]
Looking at the July Opponents
Video: Chris “Pure Rage” Perez
The Indians are on an off day, which makes it a perfect time to share some Indians videos from around the web. This one is dedicated to Chris Perez, who currently has 19 saves on the season. It features his entrance song “Firestarter” by Prodigy.
New Poll: When Will Jason Kipnis Arrive?
Jason Kipnis is currently lighting it up in Columbus, and is presumably next in line to come to Cleveland. His arrival would likely result in the demotion of Cord Phelps, and something would have to be done with Orlando Cabrera. He is coming off of a great series in Arizona, which makes this decision a tough one. As always, scroll down the right side of the page to find the poll. Vote and make your voice heard!
Video: Bullpen Mafia
During the recent series in New York, the Indians bullpen took a trip to the MLB Fan Cave. The bullpen has become known as the “Bullpen Mafia”, and they are currently dominating opponents whenever they come into the game. During this trip to the Fan Cave, they were shown the plan of how to win the World Series.
The Indians arrived in Arizona after a terrible series in San Francisco. It was a series in which they scored a total of 4 runs and played very poorly on national televison. The pitching did well, but the offense was nearly non-existent. The Indians front office finally made a roster change on Monday as they called up Lonnie Chisenhall and had Adam Everett designated for assignment. It was a move that many Indians fans were waiting for all season, and one that had to be done. Chisenhall’s promotion paid off early, as he went 2-4 with an RBI in his [...]
Lonnie Chisenhall is Here
It was reported earlier today that Lonnie Chisenhall has been called up, and is in the lineup tonight. This move is one that needed to happen, as Adam Everett was DFA. This move completes one half of the roster makeover that I mentioned in a post earlier today, with Adam Everett being let go. The next step would be to let go Austin Kearns, which might happen soon.
Series Preview: Indians vs. Diamondbacks
If there’s anything to take away from this series against the Giants, it’s that the Indians went toe to toe with the defending champs and didn’t blink. Unfortunately, for Cleveland, they were also swept. The Indians starting pitching performed well and Fausto Carmona turned thins around in the finale but it was all for not as the Giants were able to scrape across just enough runs to top the Tribe. June 27-29, 2011 Chase Field Scouting Report Cleveland – The Tribe rolls into Phoenix having dropped five out of six and are coming off a series sweep at the hands [...]
Indians Roster Needs Small Makeover
The Indians are coming off a terrible series is San Francisco. I should rephrase that, the Indians offense and defense are coming off of a terrible series. The pitching was phenomenal, as even Fausto had a good outing. Just on Sunday, the hitters were struck out a combined 16 times against Madison Bumgarner and Jeremy Affeldt. Bumgarner was coming off of a start against the Twins in which he could only get one out in the first inning before he was taken out of the game. Everyone in the starting lineup, besided Orlando Cabrera, struck out at least once, with [...]
Video: Fausto Carmona in 2007
There is no question that Fausto Carmona has never been the same since 2007. He won 19 games and was part of the infamous bug game in Game 2 of the ALDS, which resulted in a Tribe win over the Yankees. To take the attention off of Carmona’s current struggles, I found a video showing some pictures and video clips of Carmona at his best.
