Series Preview: Indians vs. Athletics

AUTHOR: | IN: Indians | COMMENTS: None Yet

These internet issues are starting to really become a problem, and I’m very sorry to you readers for the lack of posting recently. I won’t be telling you anything you didn’t already know, so we’ll dip into the preview with tonight’s game. Again, very sorry folks.     August 29-31, 2011 Progressive Field Scouting Report Oakland – The A’s have struggled against the Indians this season, dropping three of four and only scoring a total of eight runs in those four games. Further, they have a team batting average of just .182 in that same span. Oakland is a club [...]

Series Preview: Indians vs. Royals

AUTHOR: | IN: Indians | COMMENTS: None Yet

It’s palpaple, you can feel the division slipping away. The Indians lost five games in the division race, all in this past week. They also could have lost Travis Hafner for the season with a foot injury. Even on an off day they were presented the news that Josh Tomlin will miss his next scheduled start for undiscolsed reasons. The Tribe is searching for a boost, of any kind. Fortunately, they will get that boost with the addition of Jim Thome from Minnesota. Though he’s on the last leg of his career, and possibly the last month, he will (or [...]

Indians Claim Jim Thome Off Waivers

AUTHOR: | IN: Indians | COMMENTS: None Yet

When Travis Hafner went on the DL last week, the Indians lineup suffered a major loss. It is tough to replace someone like Hafner, but a player like Jim Thome could be a worthy replacement. Thome was recently placed on waivers by the Twins, and it was well known that the Indians were interested in him.

Series Preview: Indians vs. Mariners

AUTHOR: | IN: Indians | COMMENTS: None Yet

Sorry for the late preview everyone. I’m back to school and dealing with some rather frustrating internet problems. But anyways, as you’re well aware of by now, the Indians struggles in Detroit continued as they were downed in three straight contests. They also lost Travis Hafner to the disabled list with a foot injury. To this point, they have dropped game one of the Seattle series and are tied at one in game two. Majority of this preview coming straight from Indians.com. Sorry folks.   August 22-24, 2011 Progressive Field Scouting Report Seattle – Mike Carp’s career-high 20-game hitting streak [...]

Series Preview: Indians vs. Tigers

AUTHOR: | IN: Indians | COMMENTS: None Yet

Down to 1 1/2 games, courtesy of another series win for the Indians. This is the biggest series of the year, and it’s in Detroit and the Tribe has nine more against it’s AL Central foe. Without further ado, let’s just get to it. Go Tribe       August 19-21, 2011 Comerica Park Scouting Report Cleveland – Cleveland is cruising right now, winning seven of their last 10 coming into this weekend’s match-up with Detroit. Cleveland is 6-3 against the Tigers this year and have outscored them 41-34 in those games this year.  The Indians have been getting great [...]

Fausto Carmona Pitches a Gem in Win Over White Sox

AUTHOR: | IN: Indians | COMMENTS: None Yet

Fausto Carmona has been under the microscope all year, especially after his terrible performance on opening day. That game was against the White Sox, which was the team that he faced last night. Carmona was matched up against Mark Buehrle, which was also the same pitcher he was matched up against on opening day. This time around, Carmona out-pitched Buehrle. In 8 1/3 innings of work Carmona allowed one run, on an Alexei Ramirez home run, on four hits. Manny Acta sent him out to try and finish the game, but after walking Carlos Quentin with one out, Acta called [...]

New Poll: Is Jim Thome A First Ballot Hall of Famer?

AUTHOR: | IN: Indians | COMMENTS: None Yet

Jim Thome recently reached the 600 home run milestone, and some are questioning whether or not he belongs in the Hall of Fame. In my opinion, he should be voted into the Hall in his first year of his eligibility. That is the question the new poll question addresses. Do you believe that Thome is a first ballot Hall of Famer? If not first ballot, does he belong in the Hall? Remember to scroll down and look on the right side of the page to find the poll.

In the past, I have published links to reviews done by the writers over at Stadium Journey. These reviews are great for any fan who would like to know some information about the stadium they are visiting. They have recently published a review on Canal Park, which is the home of the Akron Aeros. The review can be found here.

Series Preview: Indians vs. White Sox

AUTHOR: | IN: Fantasy Baseball | COMMENTS: None Yet

Greetings from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina! 500 plus miles from home isn’t going to stop me from posting on the Tribe! Luckily, thanks to MLB tv, I won’t miss a pitch. Who’s excited to watch the Tribe from the beach? This guy! Unfortunately, a rain out deterred the Indians chances of a sweep of the Twins, but they have a much needed day off in the stretch run to get ready for the White Sox. I also want to take this time to congratulate Jim Thome on his 600th career home run. Congratulation to Jim! Now on to the preview.

Manny Acta Pulls Josh Tomlin Too Early

AUTHOR: | IN: Indians | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

First, I’d like to congratulate Josh Tomlin on his 12th win of the year. He certainly earned it, pitching 6.1 innings and allowing just one run on four hits with one walk. The thing that doesn’t make sense to me is the fact that Manny Acta pulled Josh Tomlin after just 84 pitches. This happens often. Tomlin is cruising along, he gets into a little bit of a jam and Acta yanks him. I don’t get it. Today, a runner did not reach second base on Tomlin until the seventh, yet Acta went to Joe Smith when the tying run [...]
