I don’t know that he’s necessarily “untouchable”, but the Giants are hardly motivated to sell him cheaply. That’s a definite “no” vote.

Aubrey Huff had a poor season last year, and this is surely his last year at first base/corner outfield.

Brandon Belt is young and hehas hit in every league that he’s played in and he is considered to be the 1B/LF of the future. He went to the Dominican Republic earlier in the fall to get some additional AB’s with the idea that he would challenge or supplement Huff in 2012.

Brian Sabean is capable of anything and has often been accused of selling “low”. But the idea that the Giants have given up on Belt and that they will sell him short BY DESIGN is completely uninformed.
