Being struck in the face by a pitch, and only missing one game may have played a role in final statistics for the year. Secondly, will Chisenhall develop faster against major league pitching or minor league pitching at this point in his career. A hitter may develop better by learning to avoid outside pitches that start as strikes and that are going to more frequently be thrown in the majors versus seeing a poorer version of that pitch in the minors. It would also help the discussion to note WHERE all the pitches that he got for hits were thrown. I also seem to recall Chisenhall being called out on some borderline corner pitches and that may affected his decision to not trust his fate in the umps hands.
