Diary of an Excruciating Game

It’s still Opening Day for the Cleveland Indians, but it doesn’t feel like a good time to celebrate. In case you missed it, the Indians took a 4-1 lead into the ninth inning before Chris Perez blew the save and the Toronto Blue Jays tied the game. The score remained knotted up at 4-4 until J.P. Arencibia‘s three-run homer in the top of the 16th put Toronto on top, 7-4.

Instead, here’s the story of the game through some Wahoo’s on First writers’ tweets (including Katie Hendershot, who was there to see the Tribe’s misfortunes live). See if you can detect our joyful optimism slowly fading away.
