Tribe Fans #AskAxford the Tough Questions

By all accounts, day one of the 2014 Tribe Fest was a roaring success. Despite the snow and cold that has ravaged Northeast Ohio, the fans showed up in droves to see their favorite Indians players. As the first major event for the Indians in 2014, it was good to see the team together again before the start of Spring Training next month.

However, there was one noticeable absence from yesterday’s festivities. One of the newest members of the Tribe was unable to get to Cleveland. Of course I’m talking about the Indians new closer, John Axford.

Axford is Canadian and makes his offseason home up in the Great White North. Because of the winter storm that has swept across North America he was unable to make it out of Canada and into Cleveland for Tribe Fest. He explained via Twitter:

The news that Axford wasn’t going to be able to attend was a bit of a bummer. After all, if you follow Axford at all on Twitter ou have probably noticed that he is quite the personality. He seems like he has a great sense of humor that will play well with both the fans and in the clubhouse. However, Axford didn’t let his absence ruin the party. A few minutes later, Axford sent out thise Tweet:

The questions began flooding in and Axford took the time to answer as many of them as he could in typical John Axford fashion. In other words, with the proper amount of seriousness and a dash of snarky goodness. Reading through his answers it’s hard not to envision Axford becoming an instant fan favorite.

Here are some of the best of the bunch:
