Cleveland Indians Acquire Utility Player Justin Sellers From Dodgers
The Cleveland Indians acquired utility infielder Justin Sellers from the Los Angeles Dodgers for cash considerations. In order to clear a roster spot for Sellers the Indians designated first baseman David Cooper for assignment.
Sellers has appeared in 82 games in parts of three seasons with the Dodgers posting a paltry triple slash line of .199/.278/.301. He has started 46 games at shortstop, 12 at second base, and six at third base.
Cooper signed a major league contract with the Indians and was attempting to resurrect his career from major back surgery as chronicled by Cleveland.com Zack Meisel earlier this week (LINK).
