Fantasy Baseball and Wahoo’s on First

Last season, Wahoo’s on First embarked on a journey to find out who knew the most about baseball. Obviously, the best possible way to accomplish this feat was fantasy baseball. How else did you think we were going to figure it out, a battle royale?

In the end, the winner of the very first Wahoo’s on First fantasy baseball league ended up being prospect guru, and resident smack talker extraordinaire, Geordy Boveroux. As if Geordy wasn’t insufferable enough as it is, we just spent the entire winter listening to him go on and on about how superior he is to the rest of here at Wahoo’s on First.

What this also meant was that we had to do it again. We couldn’t just sit idly by and let Geordy’s reign of terror go on forever, unchallenged. So, we’re doing it again, the Wahoo’s on First Fantasy baseball league 2.0. And unlike last season, when we opened it up to other Indians blog writer, we’re keeping things in house this time around. We’ve cut back from 16 teams to 8 teams consisting of current writers for Wahoo’s on First.

With the backdrop of the 2014 season getting underway last night, we embarked on the first part of any fantasy league. The draft. It was a smack talking free for all as each of us built the team that will eventually remove Geordy from his throne and establish a new king in the Wahoo’s on First Kingdom.

Here’s how it broke down:

Brian Heise (Dat Dude’s Swag Stars), Michael Chaney (The Ghost of Grady’s Ladies), Kyle Dowining (Brazilian Chin Dynasty)

Katrina Putnam (Team Putnam), Nick Houghtaling (Jeanmar Gomez Fan Club), Geordy Boveroux (The Pauer of Bauer)

Ed Carroll (.#Tinderhopefuls), Evan Vogel (Fister? I Hardly Knew Her)
