Harper Set To Return To Nationals On Monday
Bryce Harper played all of 130 games in the minor leagues before bursting on to the scene for the Washington Nationals in 2012 so many minor league fans never were able to see him in action.
This weekend fans of the Cleveland Indians Double-A affiliate Akron RubberDucks have been able to watch the powerful Harper first hand as he is on a rehabilitation assignment for the Washington Nationals Double-A affiliate Harrisburg Senators.
After missing 57 games with a torn ligament in his left thumb that required surgery he is due to return to the Nationals starting lineup on Monday. On Saturday night he showed just how ready he is by blasting three home runs off Ducks pitching. Duke von Schamann served up the first two and Toru Murata yielded the third.
Harper has played in five rehab games thus far going 9 for 14 with four homers and 11 runs driven in.
