Bauer Receives No Decision In Indians 3-2 Victory

The Cleveland Indians defeated the Chicago White Sox 3-2 on Sunday afternoon to end the first half of the season with  record or 47-47.

One of the best story lines for the Indians thus far in 2014 was on full display as Trevor Bauer worked into the seventh inning (6.2 IP) holding the White Sox to just one run (earned) on eight hits striking out ten and walking three .

Unfortunately for Bauer he did not get a “W” next to his name. The Indians had a 1-0 lead thanks to a Yan Gomes 2nd inning single heading to the eighth inning and Bryan Shaw came in relief of Marc Rzepczynski who finished the seventh inning in relief of Bauer.

Shaw allowed the White Sox to take the lead on RBI singles by Gordon Beckham and Leury Garcia.

All was not lost for the Tribe as Shaw was bailed out and ended up earning a win in the game when Yan Gomes delivered a 2-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to put the Tribe on top 3-2.

Cody Allen came in and retired the White Sox in order in the bottom of the ninth to pick up his 12th save.
