Clevelinks: Indians 2015 High Hopes; McAllister In The Rotation and more

Entering 2014, the Cleveland Indians had a lot of high hopes, coming of a Wild Card loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. Roster moves were made, bounce back years were expected, it looked to be a good year. But things didn’t pan out as expected. But mixed in all of the struggles, some good things were happening in Cleveland. Now, just like last year the tribe head to Spring Training with high hopes anda belief that this year will be different.

Our staff debated the merits of Zach McAllister as the fifth starter in this weeks “Yo Bro/No Bro” feature. While the case can be made that he could be a potential No. 5 guy, the team has several other options that as this point would be a better fit for that final rotation spot. See who you agree with, and who made the best case.

Merritt and Kyle were proud to have Indians prospect Tony Wolters on the “Wahoo’s on the Mic” podcast this week. They talked baseball, Tony’s move to catcher, and his love of shark fishing. Make sure to check it out to get to know Tony a little better. I mean, the guy fishes for a predator. How awesome is that?

The Miami Marlins will host the 2017 All-Star game, the first in the franchise’s history. The Marlins had been awarded the 2000 All-Star game, but Bud Selig took it away dues to the 1997 fire sale, as well as deeming then-home Pro Players Stadium unfit. Marlins Park is the newest stadium in baseball.
