Clevelinks: Jason Giambi Retires; Indians Sign Bruce Chen and More

It’s been a heck of a run for Jason Giambi, but after 20 years the former MVP is retiring from the game of baseball. There was speculation this was coming, but Giambi seemed to be weighing the possibility of playing again. He’s had a standing offer to return to the Indians as a coach in some form, so now we wait to see if that will be his next endeavor.

The Cleveland Indians have agreed to a minor-league deal with 16-year veteran Bruce Chen, according to Jon Heyman. The deal is reportedly worth $1 million, with $1 million in incentives if he makes the team. Chen has spent the last six season with the Kansas City Royals.

The Indians Trevor Bauer is a determined individual. A perfectionist of sorts. All of that could help him produce a breakout year in 2015. Bauer has been working out almost everyday this off-season, building strength, picking the brains of picking gurus – whatever he can to succeed.
