Those four words. Pitchers and catchers report. Most of us know the reporting date of our team well ahead of time thanks to the internet. The Cleveland Indians have reported, and although Goodyear may be 2,000 miles away from Ohio, it immediately FEELS like spring in Ohio, even if it doesn’t look it. So how long have the batteries been reporting before the rest of the team, and why? Cut 4 tried to answer that exact question.

The Indians come off of a season that saw them narrowly miss the playoffs. But it may have still been a surprise to see a few analysts pick them so high -one ranking them best in the AL. So does that expectation make a difference? Will the players reporting from injury press a little harder to get back to who they were? With this team and it’s talent, the only thing that may stop them in the Central is themselves.

A case of expectations getting the better of a player is Nick Swisher. He came to the Cleveland Indians prior to the 2013 season, but his time has been less than memorable. Now following surgery, Cleveland is hoping that Swish is health and ready to produce at higher levels, even if they fall short of initial expectations.
