Clevelinks: Indians Fall To Mariners; Ranking The AL Central Catchers And More

Brandon Moss made his debut for the Cleveland Indians, hitting a home run to tie the game at three, but the Seattle Mariners scored late, scoring on a sacrifice fly to take the 4-3 victory. Bruce Chen–battling for a roster spot–didn’t have his best outing. The veteran surrendered two home runs, while also striking out four. The Tribe will battle the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday afternoon.

A relatively young group–with only one over 30–the Central boasts some talent in the likes of the Royals Salvador Perez, and Indians’ breakout star Yan Gomes. But who’s No. 1?

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred says early feedback on pace of play has been positive, but it’s much too early to make a determination on its effectiveness. The league tried to take a measured approach to shorten game times, while not changing the game in a way that wouldn’t be viewed as positive.
