Clevelinks: Cleveland Indians Offense Output Same on Day Off as Gameday

Maybe a day off is just what the Tribe needed

The struggle is real. This Cleveland Indians offense can’t seem to score any runs, and they need to find a way to make some changes to get things on the right path. The good thing is not everyone is paying attention to them thanks to the ridiculousness of the Kansas City Royals as of late. They’re quickly turning into one of the most hated teams in baseball with their shenanigans.

It took a #TBT to remember when things were all right in Cleveland offensively. The year was 1999, and the Tribe was flush with offense. Jim Thome, Kenny Lofton, Manny Ramirez. Runs weren’t an issue back then. With the pitching entering this season, hopes were high. They’ve been dinged a bit, but there’s still time to right the ship at the plate before it’s too late.

Who would have seen this coming? The New York Mets have won 11 straight, setting a club record for consecutive wins. The return of Matt Harvey isn’t the only reason. Juan Lagares continues to shine in the field, making a highlight reel catch seemingly every game, but most importantly–they’re winning within their division. For a team that has had a stretch of tough years, it’s a good thing for baseball.

The Detroit Tigers got some bad news, as Joe Nathan will miss the entire season, and will once again need Tommy John surgery. At 40, many thought he may have thrown his last pitch, but it sounds like Nathan has no intentions to retire. But for the Tigers, even with things going well, Nathan was a guy they were counting on getting back.
