Clevelinks: Cleveland Indians Drop Fourth Straight; Is it Time for Lindor Yet?

Tribe offense has a pulse, but bullpen flatlines

The Cleveland Indians finally brought a little bit of offense to the table. After a quality outing from

Trevor Bauer

, who was still getting over the effects of food poisoning, the bullpen allowed the floodgates to open. Four Indians’ relievers combined to allow eight runs, wasting Bauer’s strong start.

Brandon Moss

provided the highlight of the night with a three-run home run that put the Tribe up 5-3 in the sixth. Enter bullpen, and it was all over from there.

Jose Ramirez continues to trend downward, as his average sits at .186 as he left five men on base. The Indians need to consider Francisco Lindor. The talk is that defensively he’s ready, but his bat isn’t an upgrade because he isn’t ready offensively. I’m going to say that Ramirez isn’t ready and let’s put the best on the field and go from there. Even if he’s not “there” yet at the plate, I think he can manage better than a .180 average.

The Indians Carlos Carrasco knows EXACTLY how Archie Bradley feels. Bradley was struck square in the face by a line drive off the bat of Carlos Gomez. And thanks to Statcast, we know it was traveling 115 mph. The sound was sickening and Bradley lay motionless for what seemed an eternity, but he was able to walk off the field under his own power.
