Clevelinks: Cleveland Indians Win Behind Stellar Outing From Danny Salazar

Tribe bring the offense with Mother’s Day pink bats

The Cleveland Indians felt that mother’s around the world deserved better than what they had been showing as of late. So, with pink bats in hand, the Tribe set out to demolish the Minnesota Twins–and they did just that.

Danny Salazar

was masterful, and

Jason Kipnis

stayed hot with three hits as the Indians routed the Twins 8-2 on Sunday afternoon. Salazar has become the streak-stopper, and at this point has become the top starter in a struggling rotation.

The Royals and Tigers battled for the AL Central lead this weekend, with Kansas City getting the final shot in with a rain-delayed series win to take a 1 1/2 game lead. In the top of the tenth, KC’s Alex Gordon was hit by a pitch or at least that was the call as it appeared to just graze his uniform. He would score on an Omar Infante sacrifice fly later in the inning, but they excitement wasn’t over. Greg Holland loaded the bases before getting a 5-2-3 double play. He would load them back up before getting Yoenis Cespedes to strike out.

Ultimate Mother’s Day gift? Hold on to the baby for an entire game so mom can enjoy the game, and snag a foul ball bare handed while holding said baby, then give ball to wife. That was one man’s “plan” in Philadelphia as he did just that, scoring huge bonus points, making everyone else’s gifts pale in comparison.
