It’s called a winnings streak, it has happened before

The Cleveland Indians won their second consecutive series and their third game in a row with a 5-2 win over the Chicago White Sox.

Danny Salazar

bounced back from a rough start in his previous outing to go six innings of scoreless baseball. He walked three but struck out eight to stay out of trouble on the mound.

The Tribe jumped on Sox starter John Danks in the first innings with four runs, including back-to-back home runs from Nick Swisher and Mike Aviles as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead before the Sox got to bat. They scored their only runs on a Tyler Flowers home run in the ninth of reliever Bryan Shaw.

In the newest episode of the Wahoo’s on the Mic podcast, our Merritt Rohlfing and Joe Gerberry are talking everything Indians, including the poor defensive start, starting pitching, and will the bats ever come to life? They also discuss the fifth spot in the rotation, which Shaun Marcum may have put his stamp on with his last start, and first since 2013.

The Milwaukee Brewers Will Smith was ejected for having a foreign substance on his arm, and it didn’t sit too well with either team. Smith claimed it was a mixture of sunscreen and rosin that he simply forgot to wipe off before coming into the game. Many pitchers will use things of that nature to get a grip on the ball, and while it doesn’t affect the action of the ball, it’s still the rules.
