Cleveland Indians Hope to Return the Favor, End Texas Rangers Win Streak at Six

Indians look to bounce back after streak snapped

The Cleveland Indians have been one of the hottest teams in the last week, but were cooled off a bit by the Texas Rangers, and even more so by themselves as critical errors hurt them in the 10-8 loss on Monday.

Carlos Santana continues to pick it up offensively, as he hit a towering solo home run in yesterday’s game. Nick Swisher has had good success against Rodriguez, going 4-for-6 with two doubles. Yan Gomes will return to the lineup as he’s eased back in following his return from injury.

The Rangers (22-23) are going to be patient with Josh Hamilton in his second stint with them, and if the rest of the offense continues to do its thing, no one will notice if Hamilton is struggling to start or not. And especially with the tear that Prince Fielder is on. He leads the AL in average at .365. He’s 7-for-18 with two homers this season against Cleveland.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 pm ET at Progressive Field. Sports Time Ohio will televise the game, and WMMS 100.7 will have the radio broadcast.
