Cleveland Indians Shutout the Chicago Cubs; Lindor Collects First RBI

The Cleveland Indians‘ rookie is collecting his “firsts” at a pretty good clip. After notching his fist career hit in his debut, Francisco Lindor had an RBI single in the Tribe’s 6-0 win over the Chicago Cubs for the first of his career. He later stole his first base just for good measure. It was all Indians after Carlos Santana hit a three-run home in the third, as Trevor Bauer was fantastic and wouldn’t need any more help than that.

Bauer went seven innings, allowing just four hits while striking out seven. He did walk three but was able to work around those without issue. He too collected his first career hit with a single of Cubs’ starter Jake Arrieta. The two teams will now move the venue to Cleveland for two more games starting tonight.

The Cleveland Indians sold the contract of Anthony Swarzak to the Doosan Bears of the Korean Baseball Organization yesterday, a move confirmed by the Indians. After being a top reliever for the Twins in 2013, he’s been unable to find the same success. Now he’ll try his hand in the hitter-friendly KBO.
