Cleveland Indians: Who Had the Better Day, Bauer or Lindor?

Someone had a good day, but whose was better?

With the Cavs losing in the NBA Finals, I figure it’s a ignore that to ask, who had the better day yesterday? The

handily took care of the Chicago Cubs in what now has essentially become three-game “series”. So who’s game was more impressive,

If we go on the basis of making it around first without taking a spill, Lindor has to feel pretty good about his chances. After tumbling to the ground after his first Major League hit on Sunday, Lindor was able to laugh it off and simply enjoy the moment. At least until he has to pony up the demands to the Tribe starting staff that’s holding his ball ransom.

But this game went smoothly for Lindor, as he collected two hits, including his first career-RBI. No word yet if the outfielders have decided to demand a ransom yet, but it’s not unheard of to think they will. His RBI-single in the fourth brought in Jason Kipnis to give the Tribe a 4-0 lead. He later stole second in the inning for his first career steal. Luckily he doesn’t get the base so no one can demand anything from him for that.

And then there’s the superb outing from Bauer. He went seven innings, allowing just four hits while striking out seven. His three walks were his only negative, as they also drove up his pitch count to 108, forcing him from the game after his seven innings. He kept hitters off balance all evening, as there were only a handful of balls hit solid, and most went for outs.

So it’s a tough one. A lot of firsts for Lindor, who is off to a solid start aside from his baserunning blunder. But Bauer looked lights out, and may not have surrendered anything if he’d been able to finish the game. If you’re undecided, I offer the final piece in the case for Bauer. He too collected his first Major League hit. And as a bonus, he stayed upright the entire time.

So who won the day? Lindor or Bauer? You decide.
