Cleveland Indians Look to Rebound from Blowout Loss to the Chicago Cubs

Tribe, Salazar look to bounce back vs. Cubs

The

had a rough outing last night. The

hit four home runs, drove in 17 runs total and literally ran Indians starter

out of Cleveland. He was designated for assignment earlier today. The Tribe will look to

(6-2, 2.54) to salvage the second of the two-game set against the Cubs’

(5-2, 2.81).

The Indians (30-34) hope to turn things around after having just four hits in last night’s contest. However, Jason Kipnis did have one of those hits, extending his hitting streak to 12 games, which trails only the Cubs Kris Bryant for the longest in the majors. Skipper Terry Francona will be looking for Salazar to eat up innings to save a bullpen that was ineffective to the point he turned to Ryan Raburn and David Murphy to close it out.

The Cubs (35-28) have Bryant’s hitting streak, as well as Kyle Schwarber who will look to impress the Cubs and their fans again as he’ll be the DH once again after going 4-for-5 in last night’s contest. The Indians hope to get the Hammel that allowed four runs (two earned) against the Reds in his last outing instead of the one who has allowed two or fewer in six of his last seven.
