Cleveland Indians Travel To Baltimore to Face the Orioles

Tribe head to Baltimore to battle the Orioles

The Cleveland Indians haven’t really helped Corey Kluber much, but he’s not helping himself either. He’ll look to avoid his fifth straight loss as they take on the Baltimore Orioles for a three-game set.

Kluber (3-9, 3.65) has gotten the worst run support among those who qualify at just 2.17. But his last four starts have fallen back on his pitching as much as the offense. He’s 0-4 with a 4.00 in his last four starts as the Indians (33-38) try to regain their footing in the AL Central.

The Orioles (38-34) lineup hasn’t had great success against Kluber, as the current group of O’s are batting just .260 against him without a home run. Their ace Wei-Yin Chen (3-4, 2.89) takes the mound coming off a solid performance in a 4-0 win over Philadelphia. He was then sent to Class-A ball for a start, a move that was not received well by he or his agent. O’s skipper Buck Showalter claimed it was because Chen complained of being tired in his last outing.

Jason Kipnis remains all-everything for the Tribe, as he’s now hit in 19 straight, which ties the longest streak this season. Previously this season against the Orioles, Kipnis went 5-for-10 with two doubles.

Kluber has been dominant against Baltimore dating back to last season. In his only start against them at Camden Yards last May, he pitched seven scoreless innings against them while going 1-0 with a 0.61 ERA in two starts.
