The Wahoo’s on First podcast returns with plenty to talk about following the trade deadline and the state it left the Cleveland Indians in.Believe it or not, after a small sample it seems the Tribe find themselves in a better place–at least temporarily. The offense suddenly seems alive, and the starting pitching continues to be flat-out impressive. If not for the woeful offense, the Indians may have had two or three Cy Young candidates. But as it is they’re looking to salvage what’s left of this season.

More from Away Back Gone

Somehow it’s way longer than it should be, but Merritt flies solo and answers questions from listeners post-rant about the trade deadline and its freaky aftermath. From the exodus of a pair of terrible signees in Michael Bourn and Nick Swisher to the acquisition of the next Kirby Puckett (and that’s totally not a huge conclusion jump to), it was interesting to say the least. Also a lot of great questions and one terrible one from listeners for the second time ever.

Thanks for listening, we’d love to hear from you! Send questions, comments, curiosities and curses to wahoosonfirst@gmail.com or get us on Twitter @wahoosonfirst or @merrittrohlfing! Thanks!
