Francisco Lindor can continue to shine in WBC semis

Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor is in action tonight as Puerto Rico takes on the Netherlands in the first semifinal of the World Baseball Classic.

Cleveland Indians fans are almost able to stop worrying about the team’s players participating in the World Baseball Classic, as only a few more days remain.

Puerto Rico takes on the Netherlands tonight, while Team USA will take on Japan tomorrow night in the second semifinal.

That means Indians fans who have been awaiting Francisco Lindor‘s return to Goodyear can watch him on the world stage tonight, when his Puerto Rican squad looks to remain undefeated and advance to the finals of the tournament.

He currently has an average of .389 in five games, hitting two home runs and driving in four. His seven hits is second on the team behind Carlos Beltran, while his 1.177 OPS is good for fourth on the team.

Indians fans knew Lindor would do well in the tournament, but it is still a bit surprising to see someone so young show up in March and dominate against the best players from around the world. Well, the best one who decided to show up to the tournament.

The 23-year-old has only played one full MLB season, but he is already considered one of the top shortstops in the game. After another year or two, it will be clear he is the best in the game.
