The Cleveland Indians received great news when Carlos Carrasco recently made it clear he is not feeling any pain in his elbow.

All Cleveland Indians fans want in 2017 is a World Series parade, and for that to happen the key players on the team must remain healthy throughout the season.

The team nearly got it done without some stars a year ago, but their collective presence may have changed history and kept the Chicago Cubs’ curse alive.

Carlos Carrasco was a player who could have made a difference, which is why Indians fans may have been terrified when it was revealed last week that he had some swelling in his elbow. He is likely the No. 2 pitcher in the rotation, and any setback would be devastating, especially at the start of the season.

But fear not, as Carrasco seems to be just fine. An article by Jordan Bastian on Indians.com explains how Carrasco has no more pain in his elbow after making a minor league start. From the article:

"“In the beginning, I was a little bit scared,” Carrasco said. “I didn’t know what I had in my elbow. But right now, it was only inflammation. So we took a week off and took medication, and everything feels fine now.”"

With Jason Kipnis already dealing with an injury that will cause him to miss some time, fans were not ready for the news that another starter would be missing some time due to injury. Luckily, it appears that Carrasco is fine and just needed a quick break to heal his elbow.

But this does not mean the Indians need to rush him back. Breaks early in the season allow the team to go with four starters for two weeks if they want to be cautious with Carrasco, but if he says he feels fine then there is no need to hold him out. He just needs to tell the truth and not try to rush back.
