The Cleveland Indians are once again playing on Mother’s Day, giving fans some fond memories of watching baseball with mom.

Happy Mother’s Day!

The Cleveland Indians are looking to give fans something to cheer about today against the Minnesota Twins, but today is a special occasion.

With some nice weather in Cleveland, fans are able to take in some baseball with their mothers in an important game for the team. Watching baseball with mom is fun, but the connection runs deeper than just the individual game for some.

More from Away Back Gone

For me, I grew up watching the Indians with my mom. I could rattle off the starting lineup when I was barely able to walk thanks to her plopping me down in front of the television and introducing me to the game.

She would play catch with me and helped keep me interested in the game I have loved for so long. And yes, if I threw the ball in the house I would get a stern look, but it usually developed into a casual game of catch.

I bring this up because I want to hear your Indians/baseball-themed Mother’s Day stories.

Have any special memories watching the Indians with mom? Was your mom a diehard fan whose cheers and jeers drew you into becoming a fan?

Baseball is a great game that brings people together, and that holds true on this annual celebration of moms across the country.
