The Cleveland Indians have been on a tear throughout the past week, leading to another bump in FanSided’s MLB power rankings.

Cleveland Indians fans have been enjoying the last week as the team has been playing at an elite level again. After falling to 31-31, the Indians are now 38-32 and looking to take three of four from the Baltimore Orioles tonight.

This recent stretch hasn’t gone unnoticed nationally, as the Indians jumped up to the No. 7 spot in FanSided’s most recent MLB power rankings. The team came in at No. 9 a week ago.

While most of the roster has been on fire, Jose Ramirez has stood out as the star of the show. He has nine consecutive multi-hit games and has seen his average rise up to .322.

From the power rankings article:

"Never mind that their starting pitching is still up in the air behind Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco, the Indians have been putting on an offensive clinic for the past week. No one has been hotter than Jose Ramirez. Over the past eight games, the third baseman is hitting .568/.600/1.135 with 10 doubles, a triple, three home runs, and seven RBI."

More from Away Back Gone

Ramirez is in the midst of a historic stretch and there seems to be no signs of him slowing down anytime soon. He has helped make up for some lackluster hitting from Francisco Lindor and Carlos Santana, although both have had their moments during the past week.

With Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco dominating and Andrew Miller being a demigod out of the bullpen, this team is in great shape. And if everyone can get it going, there is no reason why the Indians shouldn’t be the favorites to win the American League.

Even if the starting rotation behind Kluber and Carrasco can just be average, the group is in great shape.

It is great to see the Indians heating up after a slow start, reminiscent of what happened in June a year ago. Now the focus is on increasing that division lead.
