The Cleveland Indians remain an inconsistent team, but still find themselves ranked in the top third of the league in FanSided’s MLB power rankings.

The Cleveland Indians had an embarrassing stretch of play over the weekend, so naturally the team came back to take three of four from the Texas Rangers.

The Indians remain atop the American League Central division after another win today, and are heading to Detroit for four games in three days.

Indians fans may still be a bit frustrated after all the inconsistent play, but a 42-36 record is nothing to be upset about. Because of the record, the Indians came in at No. 8 in the latest edition of FanSided’s MLB power rankings.

From the article:

"Cleveland needs some consistency in the rotation behind Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco. That has been the same narrative all year. They can beat anyone when the offense is clicking, as evidenced by their 15-9 win over the Rangers after falling behind 7-1. The Indians are still the class of their division, but could have a much more difficult time in August and September than anyone could have predicted."

The problems with this team seem to shift back and forth between the pitching staff and the lineup, as fans have been left waiting for it all to come together.

But with where the team is right now, there is no need for any sense of worry or panic to set in. As long as they don’t get swept without any resistance on offense, this team seems to be improving with each passing week.

This weekend’s series against the Detroit Tigers can be a turning point, as the Indians have the chance to increase their division lead with some victories over a free-falling Tigers team.

With their former rival set to be sellers, the Indians can pounce and start to pull away in the division. This seems to be the same thing fans say every week, only for the Indians to go through a rough stretch. But we will all keep saying it until it comes true.
