It’s safe to say the bottom has fallen out of the 2012 Indians season. After being swept by the lowly Minnesota Twins, trade speculation is swirling and the Indians appear poised to be sellers yet again, with the usual names like Chris Perez and Shin-Soo Choo being thrown around as the bait.

But on Sunday, a new name was thrown into the ring, one that doesn’t make as much sense at first glance, but could be a telling sign of how far away the team really thinks they are: Justin Masterson is now apparently on the block. (more…)

Something’s been bothering me for a while: The fact that Cleveland Indians fans around the nation cannot stop complaining about the Ubaldo Jimenez trade.

In all fairness, I didn’t like the deal as it happened. I truly see Drew Pomeranz as a future ace or top number two starter. At the time, Alex White looked like a great mid-rotation option with strong strikeout potential and a great sinker. But regardless, they’re no longer Indians. And that’s a fact that fans who are still pining for Pomeranz and White need to accept. (more…)

Last night was a crazy night for any fan of the Indians. It started off with the team looking like they were headed to their third straight shutout.

While the offense was struggling, Justin Masterson was pitching a great game. He had a rough start, but got out of the first inning only allowing one run. He finished with two earned runs on nine hits in eight innings. He did not get the win, which went to Tony Sipp, but he proved that he is still the ace of the team.

During the game, Twitter began to blow up with reports of Ubaldo Jimenez being traded to the Indians. The rumors began once Drew Pomeranz was scratched from his start in Akron. This surely signaled a deal, but Jimenez started the game for the Rockies. This seemed odd to Indians fans, and even Jimenez himself, and he was eventually pulled after pitching one inning, in which he allowed four runs. (more…)
