Can you call it a series split if you play only two of the games? It’s going to be a stress-filled couple of weeks until we’re able to experience the finale of this week’s Cleveland Indians/Chicago White Sox series, so bate your breath accordingly. The Tribe and the Hose scored 10 runs combined in these two games and despite some walking issues there was some strong pitching and really, outside of some mysteriously poor offensive output against a guy who can’t hit 90 mph and Jason Kipnis not hitting even one home run, it was a relative success. When you’re a fan of a specific team, it is easy for the moves of other teams to get lost in translation. As a Cleveland Indians fan, you should be proud of the solid moves that the club has made this offseason. From the signing of Nick Swisher to the acquisition of Trevor Bauer in the three-team deal with Arizona and Cincinnati, the Tribe roster is full of solid additions, as well as a huge upgrade at manager with Terry Francona coming aboard. Sometimes there aren’t enough words to describe something you just saw. The sheer amazement of the situation, or lack there of, can’t be adequately described given the confines of our vocabulary. That’s saying something considering there are roughly hundreds of thousands of words readily available in the English language to choose from. The Indians’ three game series in Minnesota this past weekend was one of those times. (more…)
