Within the space of the past four games, we have seen Mark Reynolds at first base and third base. Nick Swisher has been at first base, right field, and designated hitter. Carlos Santana has been at catcher and first base. Drew Stubbs has been in center field and right field. Ryan Raburn has been in left and right field. Before previewing the Indians-Red Sox series that begins tonight, I feel it’s appropriate to take a moment to acknowledge those who were, or know someone who was affected by the events that occurred yesterday in Boston. It was an absolutely terrible situation that makes absolutely no sense and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Boston. Hopefully the game tonight and the ones over the coming days can serve as a pleasant distraction as they begin to piece together exactly what happened. (more…)

Here at Wahoo’s on First we’ve written countless words about the Cleveland Indians’ outstanding offseason. The Tribe signed Nick Swisher, Mark Reynolds and Michael Bourn. They brought in Trevor Bauer, a top pitching prospect. After years of mediocrity, the Indians seem to be moving in the right direction. On paper, this might be the best team since the Indians made their magical ALCS run in 2007. (more…)
