Man, it was nice to get that win over with, huh? A sweep by the Minnesota Twins is no way to go into facing the Boston Red Sox, so thank goodness the Cleveland Indians pulled it out. Looking back, it’s like some kind of weird dream we all experienced at the same time. How are they suddenly nine games under .500? Where did the season go? Did anything even happen at the trade deadline? Pretty much the worst time to go into a tailspin, they couldn’t get better or build for the future because it was so in between. But now a new streak can start, one of winning. Thankfully the team having the most issues in the league is coming to town: the Red Sox. (more…)

For anyone who hasn’t been paying close enough attention, Jason Kipnis is having a great 2012 season. He’s murdering the baseball and has stuffed the stat sheet in a manner that has made Indians fans and fantasy baseball enthusiasts drool. What makes Kipnis’ 2012 season so impressive is that all of this success has come during his first full year in the major leagues. After an impressive 36-game debut last season, Kipnis gave us a reason to believe the future of second base in Cleveland was in good hands. He hit for power with a decent average, and his defense steadily improved each and every game. (more…)

Series Preview: Cleveland Indians at Boston Red Sox

Apparently it’s laundry week for the Cleveland Indians. After splitting a four-game series against the division-rival Chicago White Sox, the Indians will make their way to Boston to take on the Red Sox for another four-game series starting tonight. However, unlike the last series against the White Sox there are no doubleheaders scheduled—at least not yet (cross your fingers). This will be the Indians’ first look at the Red Sox this season and will also be their lone trip up to Fenway Park in 2012. (more…)
