More than any other sport, there is an eternal link between modern players and those of previous generations. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Over the last two weeks, FanSided&#8217;s MLB team held a mock vote for the National Baseball Hall of Fame&#8217;s 2012 class. The votes have been tallied, and the result is: first baseman Jeff Bagwell is the sole candidate who would join Ron Santo&#8217;s widow for induction this year in our Cooperstown.</p>
<p>Forty-four writers representing 26 sites participated in our vote. Each writer was allowed to cast votes for up to 10 of the 27 candidates on this year&#8217;s ballot. As with the real BBWAA voting, candidates needed 75 percent (33 votes) to gain entrance into Cooperstown. Players receiving less than five percent (two or fewer votes) would be dropped from next year&#8217;s ballot.</p>
