For many fans, the end-of-season player awards are one of the biggest highlights of the long MLB offseason. There’s just one problem: the most deserving players don’t always win. Don’t be fooled by the fact that the All-Star Game is a glorified exhibition game. Yes, home field advantage is at stake, but there’s more than that. While the All-Star game isn’t as competitive as it was during its early years, there is still a massive amount of pride on the line. For the American League the 2012 All-Star Game is their chance to restore order. This is their chance to put the National League back in its place. It’s time for the American League to send the Senior Circuit back to the retirement home. (more…)
